Milton Scharff, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Milton Scharff graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his pediatric internship and residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Although he has received a lifetime status by the Board, he electively maintains his maintenance of certification status. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is consistently recognized by Phoenix Magazine as a "Top Doc," and listed as one of the “Best Doctors in America."
Dr. Scharff joined Camelback Pediatrics in 1994. Prior to that, he practiced general pediatrics in Shreveport, Louisiana and was Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He worked closely with nationally known pediatric lung expert, Dr. Bettina Hillman. In Shreveport, he founded Pediatric Associates and also served as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Schumpert Medical Center. Dr. Scharff has lectured regularly on special interests including advanced cardiovascular life support, newborn care, and childhood safety. He was a charter member of the Louisiana Child Passenger Safety Association which was instrumental in passing the state’s first law mandating the use of infant and child car seats.
Dr. Scharff is happily married to his wife Gail and is the proud father of three accomplished young adults Erin, Spencer and Reed. Erin and Spencer are now attorneys, and Reed works in the world of data. He is also the very proud grandpa of Phillip, Daniel, Ruth, Ziggy and Max. They call him "Doc".
Dr. Scharff is passionate about road biking. Keep an eye out for his team, the Brews Cycling. He also likes to hike, read, and chase his grandkids.
