Kristin Struble, M.D., F.A.A.P.

 

Dr. Kristin Struble grew up in Tucson, Arizona and is the youngest of six children. She earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Arizona. Dr. Struble graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and biochemistry and graduated in the top of her class in medical school. She also received the special honors of “Hugh C. Thompson Student Award for Excellence in Pediatrics,” and the “Outstanding Achievement” award upon graduating medical school.

 

Her undergraduate nutrition science degree was a catalyst for obtaining additional dietary education. Therefore, she completed a summer medical school nutrition internship at University of California, San Diego. Her passion for nutrition didn’t stop with her education.  She is the author of a humorous children’s book titled “How to be a “Poop” Detective,” which focuses on “poop” and how it relates to diet and nutrition. 

 

Dr. Struble completed her pediatric residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/ Maricopa Integrated Health Systems in May of 2001. During her residency, she also published a short children’s book illustrated in part by the children that she was caring for. Dr. Struble ultimately earned her board certification in pediatrics in October of 2001 and has been enjoying private pediatric practice in Phoenix since.

She has been consistently recognized by both Phoenix Magazine as a “Top Doc” and by the “Best Doctors of America” and was a nominee for the prestigious “Healthcare Hero” award from the Phoenix Business Journal. She also was voted “Best of the Valley Pediatricians” in Arizona Foothills Magazine.

Dr. Struble has been honored to be a guest on local news stations discussing her children’s book and gut health, along with other medically relevant topics. She’s also been quoted in publications such as the Washington Post, Forbes magazine, the Food and Beverage Insider magazine and has been a guest on several podcasts, including Dishing Up Nutrition, which reaches over two million Saturday listeners in the state of Minnesota. She has authored several articles for Squatty Potty and even co-marketed a version of of her children’s book with them. Most recently, she acted as an educator and spokesperson for Wellements baby products and a Scientific Advisor for SmartyPants Multivitamins. Also, she’s currently getting certified in Functional Integrative Medicine.

 

Kristin is happily married to Stephen Chakmakian, D.O., is the proud mother of Luke and also adores her English Springer Spaniel, Beaumont. She enjoys hiking, running, her Peloton and trying new cuisine.
