Kristin Struble, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Kristin Struble grew up in Tucson, Arizona and is the youngest of six children. She attended Salpointe Catholic High School and earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Arizona. Dr. Struble graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and biochemistry. While at the University of Arizona, she participated in several social and honorary organizations including Bobcats and Mortar Board honorary groups, and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She also received the special honors of “Hugh C. Thompson Student Award for Excellence in Pediatrics,” and the “Outstanding Achievement” award upon graduating medical school.

Her undergraduate nutrition science degree was a catalyst for obtaining additional dietary education. Therefore, she completed a summer medical school nutrition internship at University of California, San Diego. Her passion for nutrition didn’t stop with her education.  She just recently released a humorous children’s book called “How to be a “Poop” Detective,” which focuses on “poop” and how it relates to diet and nutrition.  (See below).

Dr. Struble also has a special interest in dermatology and is honored to have studied and published with Ron Hansen, M.D., a well-respected pediatric dermatologist.

Dr. Struble completed her pediatric residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/ Maricopa Integrated Health Systems in May of 2001. During her residency, she also published a short children’s book illustrated in part by the children that she was caring for. Dr. Struble ultimately earned her board certification in pediatrics in October of 2001. Since then, she has been consistently recognized by both Phoenix Magazine as a “Top Doc” and by the “Best Doctors of America.”

Kristin is happily married to Stephen Chakmakian, D.O., and is the proud mother of Luke, who, in her unbiased opinion is “perhaps the cutest and smartest kid you’ve ever met.” Kristin also adores her two English Springer Spaniels, Beaumont and Max.
