There are multiple types of apppointments at Camelback Pediatrics.

We prefer to give you an appointment with the provider of your choice. Unfortuanlety, if the provider is not available, you may be asked to choose an alternate provider.  Almost always, appointments that our scheudled a few weeks in advance will be with the provider of your choice.

1.  Newborn first visits

These are typically scheduled in the morning, usually 1 or 2 days after discharge from the hospital.  Please call us as soon as you know your discharge plans to schedule this important first visit.

2.  Well child exams

These are often scheduled in advance and usually with the provider of your choice.

It is recommended that children 2 years and up have an annual health evaluation. Infants are seen much more frequently: 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months and 18 months.

3.  School Physicals and Camp Physicals.

These are often scheduled in advance and usually with the provider of your choice.

4.  Same day, urgent visits

We certainly try to meet all requests for same day, urgent care and with the provider of your choice.  The earlier in the day that you call, the more likely we can accomodate this request.

5.  Lacerations, trauma

We feel that most lacerations are better handled in urgent care centers or in emergency departments of hospitals. Significant body injury with pain and deformity may require urgent imaging and this may be best done in these settings as well.

6.  Behavioral health

Initial exams for behavior and school problems require significant time.  Please make sure that the scheduler understands the nature of your call.

7.  Well/Sick care at same visit

Occasionally, your child will be ill at a well visit or an unexpected signifant finding outside the scope of routine medical care will be uncovered.  In these instances, a second modified care charge will be added to the visit.
