School, Sports & Camp Physicals
Regular physicals are an important part of preventative pediatric care.
These are often scheduled in advance and usually with the provider of your choice.
They give a doctor the opportunity to examine your child, evaluate their health and fitness, and determine whether or not they are prepared for sports or school activities. Annual physicals, even when not required by a certain organization, should be a part of your child’s ongoing healthcare because they also provide an important opportunity to discuss your child’s development and any concerns you may have.
No matter the sport or organization, our providers are available to assist you and your child with their physical for sports, band, school, girl scouts, boy scouts, camp, etc. Just bring in your form during your appointment! There may be an additional fee for this appointment as it is not covered by insurance outside of a routine physical.
As more and more schools and urgent care clinics offer “convenient” sports physicals, it is important to recognize that a sports physical cannot take the place of a well child exam. The sports physical is designed to clear an athlete for participation in sports or other physically strenuous activities while the well child exam includes much more comprehensive care.
